As much as I love having a 400hp BRZ, I don’t need two sports cars. I’m starting the part out of the BRZ this week and will hopefully have it sold in the next couple months. Planning on getting a 2019 Voodoo Blue TRD Pro 4Runner to tow the Miata.

The Miata is my track car, and since track cars have a tendency to break, I need something to tow it. Hopefully it survives the next two weekends on track and then I can park it until I get my 4Runner

Biggest reason I’m keeping the Miata over the BRZ is the repair. If my Miata burns to the ground, I can build another one in the exact same way for less than replacing just t he engine in the BRZ.

I’m excited for it. Hopefully I’ll have the BRZ parted out over the next 6-8 weeks to get either the 4Runner or Tacoma TRD Pro by my birthday. I’m leaning pretty heavily towards the 4R though.

I misread your post, thought it said Tacoma instead of 4Runner... I’m in full out zombie mode this Monday morning.
Anyway, my dad picked up a 2018 4Runner back in October, so if you have any random questions about it, let me know! They’re built very well.

Go with the 4r. I had to drive brand new tacomas of all trim levels thanks to my job at toyota . The engines weren’t great and trannies were clunk. Even the manual was by far one of the worst manuals I’ve driven. Also I hope you like spacious interiors because it’s about as spacious as that miata of yours. This is coming from a 5'7" guy too. Go with 4r, they are way better.

I’m looking for a seat, I’ve broken mine from being fat and spending lots of time at the track.
Are you doing the APEX at MSR on the 1.7ccw? I’m instructing at that one and could pull some strings and instruct you and/or I can give you a ride.

I’m missing that weekend. I’ll be at TNiA tomorrow and TDE on the 1.7CW this coming weekend. After that, no track time until I can get the BRZ parted out and sold. I already have a trailer for the Miata, just need the 4Runner now.

Dang, I’m not going to be at either of those events; however, I’ll be at pretty much all the APEX events, PCA DE’s, BMWCCCA DE’s, and SCCA Time Trials this year so lots of opportunities.
I’m toying with the idea of getting an ECR membership for next year, but I still have trouble justifying the cost. I’m paying for my track time with sweat equity for nearly all my events now, but I could pay with under $100 cash per event for the same or more track time as an ECR member.
Right now, I enjoy instructing enough that working for my track time is the easy choice; however, I’m sure that someday I’ll opt for the leisure and ease of member days.

Yes I will, I’m defending my Touring 1 Championship and instructing. I’ll be in the Red BRZ STX 14.
